The Revenue Accounting Manager will lead and supervise the revenue accounting team and will report to the Director of Revenue and Finance Operations. The revenue accounting team is responsible for the monthly close process around revenue and deferred commissions and the subsequent reporting of key financial metrics. The team will execute accounting policies and implement operational processes to ensure the integrity of worldwide revenue in a hyper-growth environment.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Revenue Accounting team in the monthly revenue and deferred commissions close process and period reporting
  • Play an integral role in the implementation of the revenue management system RevSym.
  • Partner with the cross-functional teams to create efficient, scalable processes for producing monthly, quarterly, and yearly revenue numbers, and assist in identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Ensure revenue is recognized in compliance with relevant US GAAP Revenue Recognition rules (ASC 606) & MapR Revenue Recognition policy.
  • Lead monthly revenue close process, record revenue journal entries and complete revenue account reconciliations.
  • Calculate, analyze and present key financial metrics and explain business reasons for trends and variances.
  • Ensure that the various reporting systems and source data are accurate and reconciled.
  • Assist and provide guidance in implementing systems and policies to enhance internal controls and process efficiencies.
  • Participation in special projects as assigned.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills

Qualifications: 
  • BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 7+ years of professional experience, including Revenue Operations, Revenue Recognition and Revenue Reporting in high-technology industry.
  • Experience with ASC 606 accounting a plus.
  • Strong Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Desire to learn new skills and responsibilities and thrive in a fast pace growth environment.
  • Experience driving scalable process improvements and organizational change
  • Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce preferred.
  • Ability to identify/analyze issues and provide recommendations to management.
  • Ability to proactively identify process gaps and make improvement.
  • Strong analytical skills are required to effectively analyze data.
  • Self- motivated with the ability to multi task and work in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
