MapR is seeking an enthusiastic Events Coordinator to help support customer facing and internal facing events that will accelerate revenue-bearing opportunities. In this role, they will work directly with field marketing, corporate events, creative services, as well as channel partners.
The Events Coordinator will help ensure that programs and marketing strategies are properly developed and executed to successfully promote the MapR brand and fulfill all sponsor initiatives.
This individual will also perform a range of administrative and support duties related to the daily operations of the marketing events department such as maintaining events calendars, opening purchase orders, and reconciling billing. 

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is results driven and has proven knowledge and experience supporting end-to-end event logistics including exhibits, catering, audio-visual, event timeline and budgeting. They know how to help deliver white glove experiences for customers and partners and can troubleshoot problems on the fly. This person must possess excellent communication and follow-through skills, with a strong attention to detail. 
  • Review, negotiate and manage RFPs and contracts with vendors
  • Coordinate deliverables for each show with attending staff and vendors
  • Manage and maintain PO process ensuring legal approval, supporting document acquisition, making sure invoices are collected and paid in a timely manner
  • Maintain annual events calendars: ensure online calendar is up-to-date, schedule staffing, send out internal communications, ensure delivery of items to shows, manage inventory, and more
  • Budget support and reconcile event expenses in partnership with program manager
  • Ensure sponsor requirements are fulfilled
  • Maintain inventory of collateral and giveaways; order appropriate amounts when necessary
  • Drive post-mortem activities with vendors; post-event surveys for internal staff
  • Collect, clean up, and hand-off recorded leads to appropriate team
  • Various project-management as needed
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or relevant field of study
  • Minimum three (3) years events/trade show experience
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills with the ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Absolute attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a collaborative and professional environment
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Superior written and oral business communications skills, with the ability to comfortably and professionally interact with colleagues at all levels
  • Experience managing multiple third-party vendors
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Experience in a client service role and on-site event management experience a plus.
  • Mastery of Excel, PowerPoint, Eventbrite, and the ability to ramp quickly to multiple internal tools
  • Familiarity with the Salesforce ecosystem and marketing automation software a plus
  • Calm under pressure and positive attitude
  • Some travel required
