MapR is looking for an experienced sales leader to manage and grow our business in the Central and Eastern Europe region. This region covers Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the eastern European countries and Turkey.

The successful candidate will know how to attract and retain top sales talent, building on the triple digit growth rate of the region in the last 18 months. That candidate will also know how to sell innovation, drive deals forward and compress decision cycles. We're looking for a track record of proven sales success in Big Data, Analytics, software-defined storage, Data Warehouse or Database markets, or any market that helps drive organizational change through the leverage of huge amounts of data.

Responsibilities:

* Report into VP EMEA Sales and be an active part of the EMEA Management Team
* Owner of the top line revenue target and sales team hiring, development and sales execution in Central and Eastern Europe
* Direct responsibility for 8 individual contributors with significant results-driven growth in the next 12-18 months
* Indirect leadership responsibility for in-region functions including pre-sales, professional services, marketing, channels & alliances
* Territory assignment to ensure maximum in-region coverage
* Alignment and buy-in with peers in Marketing, Channels & Alliances, Pre-Sales, Professional Services, Sales Development to implement the growth plan for the Region that you ultimately own

Qualifications:

* An entrepreneurial self-starter with super people skills
* Well connected in the German IT market
* Demonstrable understanding of digital transformation and how data drives innovation in large organizations
* Proven Focused Sales Leader including Coaching and Large Deal/Enterprise Software Sales Strategy DNA.
* Proven in hiring over-performing sales team
* 3-5 Years above quota success as a front line sales manager
* Strong own Sales Track record of enterprise software sales of business-critical Solutions
* Preferably based in Munich area
* Experience in coordinating and inspiring different kind of resources in account engagements

Education/Experience:

* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
* Minimum of 5 years experience running an Enterprise Sales Team
* Minimum of 5 years experience in working in the Big Data, Analytics, software-defined storage, Data Warehouse or Database market
* German: fluent or native
* English: fluent in written and speaking
